Arthur Davis was born in 1876 in Manchester, England.
He was a locksmith along with his father for 18 years. In the early 1800's he migrated to the United States with his four brothers and three sisters. They lived in Boston for 38 years as Arthur continued the trade of a locksmith. He had set up his own locksmith business with his father, called Davis and Son.
